On light / An interlude
Anastasiia Kryvenko’s painting moves between the sacred and the everyday. Light is not simply observed; it becomes a psychological material, making familiar scenes feel suspended between reassurance and unease.
Twelve small works / one field
This series of twelve small works depicts the sky at sunset. Shown together, the images form a single field rather than a narrative. The sky remains emotionally indeterminate—neither peaceful nor threatening—leaving meaning to emerge through the viewer’s gaze.
Born in 2001 in the city of Romny, Sumy region, Ukraine, Kryvenko studied interior design before graduating in Monumental and Sacred Art from the Mykhailo Boichuk Kyiv State Academy of Decorative Applied Arts and Design.
After the academy, she took part in painting a church in Skopje, North Macedonia. She continues her independent practice through paintings that explore light, objects, and the shifting boundary between peace and anxiety.
